Lots of rain during the entire day and into the evening. Near 100% humidity outside with fog. No chance of opening tonight with all of the moisture coming at us. We also had (known) leaks inside the enclosure. Especially along the Echelle side of the building wall and stairwell wall. I think the wind was driving the rain in from that direction. There was even water on the intermediate level, especially the floor, on that same side. The rest of the enclosure floor was fairly dry, other than a few known spots were there were little puddles. The humidity inside the dome was probably 95% as the instruments also were condensing moisture on the cold exposed outside surfaces. It looked like I was inside a witches cauldron when I was filling the instruments with LN2 tonight with all the moisture in the air. I created a new slitmask for the echelle slitviewer since I adjusted the focus last night. I worked on EOY report stuff. I gave up at 04:30 with high humidity and forming clouds overhead. No telescope issues but I did not do test slews as I did not want to open the mirror covers with the rain coming down tonight and risk drips on the mirror. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- FAILURE MODE TIME PROG INSTR TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 53 53 20 202 (SSW) cloudy rain 17:00 52 52 22 195 (SSW) cloudy rain 18:00 51 52 22 227 (SW) cloudy rain 19:00 51 52 27 195 (SSW) cloudy rain 20:00 52 53 27 229 (SW) cloudy rain 21:00 52 52 31 202 (SSW) cloudy rain 22:00 52 52 28 211 (SSW) cloudy rain 23:00 51 52 24 259 (W) cloudy humid 00:00 48 49 14 276 (W) cloudy humid 01:00 48 48 11 280 (W) mstly cldy humid 02:00 49 46 21 289 (WNW) mstly cldy humid 03:00 47 46 16 285 (WNW) mstly cldy humid 04:00 46 45 19 278 (W) mstly cldy humid Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
