At 01:27 UT TUI suddenly got really sluggish and very unresponsive. I logged out but then could not log back in. My internet connection to the outside world is still up, seems to be something on the internal network for TUI. Russet was also logged in remote at the time and her connection also froze for more than 1 min. She also disconnected and tried re-connecting and then was refused. 01:49 UT suddently everything started working again. No idea why the outage or what/who fixed it. Gordon went to log in on his machine and had no issues, Tracey said everything looked fine on his end and he could log in, and then I tried and I could log in once again (as well as Russet remote). The dome mac upstairs wasn't being used, so nobody logged out, and it looked fine after all of the issues. The dome mac did not disconnect. Restarted/reset the following systems: Hub/TRON TCC New DATAQ logfile and restart recording AZ-rotator controller NA2-rotator controller I DID NOT reset the Alt-rotator controller due to heavy rains. We need the mirror cover open to reset this controller we cannot open the covers when it is raining outside. I held off on zero'ing the NA2 rotator. Bill did this just a couple days ago at the end of the DSSI run. Next I wanted to beat on the KOSMOS disperser wheel moves to see how long it would take me to break it before doing an IEB restart. I managed to get it stuck on my 2nd attempt (first run of my command script!). Off to move the wheel in it's proper place and then start the IEB1 restart process. Power cycled IEB1 as well as restarted the iebTUtils and kosmos-icc. Took images to check instrument and also set the heater deadband. I beat on the KOSMOS disperser for about 25 sets of moves fom red to blue with no further failures, after the ieb power cycle and restart. The rain stopped for a bit so I was able to reset the Alt-rotator controller. I worked on EOY stuff again tonight. I did the set inst tests without using the midpoint, Did it several times back and forth from na2 to APOLLO to NA1 and back, with no issues. I adjusted the Echelle slitviewer focus at the end of the night. I gave up at 04:20 as there was no chance we were going on sky and I completed my cloudy night tasks. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- FAILURE MODE TIME PROG INSTR TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 57 46 11 194 (SSW) 673 cloudy lt rain 17:00 55 47 14 151 (SSE) cloudy lt rain 18:00 52 49 22 146 (SE) cloudy lt rain 19:00 51 50 16 134 (SE) cloudy lt rain 20:00 55 50 17 192 (SSW) cloudy rain 21:00 51 51 24 197 (SSW) cloudy rain 22:00 50 50 14 160 (SSE) cloudy rain 23:00 49 49 16 163 (SSE) cloudy rain 00:00 50 50 21 149 (SSE) cloudy rain 01:00 49 49 11 158 (SSE) cloudy lt rain 02:00 50 48 9 174 (S) cloudy humid 03:00 50 49 14 184 (S) cloudy humid 04:00 49 50 10 221 (SW) cloudy humid Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
