More radar popped up just after midnight, causing us to close. Opened back up just after 2:30am. Closed at 4:30am due to telescope problem. Arctic LL quad was completely saturated at the start of afternoon checkout. When switched to single quad UR mode, the whole image was still at 65k+ counts. Echelle checkout image and afternoon IOL looked fine. Midnight IOL was an error, and the comp and red and blue images looked like biases. When the ThAr power supply was checked it was reading 14.2, which is normal, so it may have been the cal mirror not moving properly. I commanded the cal mirror out and back in through TUI, and that seemed to do the trick. Tert amplifier fault while switching to echelle, specifically doing the set inst, had to call for help and was told it would not be fixed by the time the sun is up. See separate email. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- FAILURE MODE TIME PROG INSTR TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- NM06 Echelle T/H 03:40 06:18 Tertiary amplifier fault - not fixed yet ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 23:00 klow 440( 1410) 254 45 16.3 18.3 19.4 17.9 16.6 -- 1.08 02:55 kosmos 390( 1217) 105 73 14.6 15.5 16.9 15.2 14.6 -- 0.80 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 69 46 15 217 (SW) 685 ptly cldy none 17:00 73 47 18 212 (SSW) 955 ptly cldy none 18:00 73 47 11 241 (WSW) 866 ptly cldy none 19:00 66 47 16 234 (SW) 892 ptly cldy none 20:00 63 47 13 241 (WSW) 1192 mstly clr none 21:00 60 50 7 339 (NNW) 1430 mstly clr none 22:00 61 49 4 251 (WSW) 1353 clear none 23:00 61 49 3 236 (SW) 1247 clear none 00:00 61 49 7 213 (SSW) 1075 mstly clr none 01:00 60 49 7 258 (WSW) 1139 ptly cldy none 02:00 58 38 5 245 (WSW) 959 mstly clr none 03:00 59 32 5 257 (WSW) 1029 clear none 04:00 59 32 7 261 (W) 1248 clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
