The fan was blowing on the controller box, but it was warm in the dome today ~25C. I took a checkout bias at: 12:28 - bad LL 65300cts opened dome 01:12 - bad LL improved from 12:28, outside air ~22.3C 01:25 - bad LL improved more froom 01:12 01:36 - normal LL, outside air 20.3C 2026-07-10 01:10:19 APO.Jack-ObsA 49 tcc f text="Failed to change to rotator 1: AxisDevice(rot1) failed to connect: Sub-command(s) failed: INIT: Timed out; STATUS: Timed out". Restarting the NA2 rotator controller fixed the problem. My observer was able to get sky flats and as I was doing my inital focus clouds moved in from the N with radar returns as well. I could see lightning in the distance as I closed the enclosure. I never finished my focus sweep. We never opened for the rest of the night due to clouds. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- FAILURE MODE TIME PROG INSTR TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 71 41 6 111 (ESE) 986 mstly cldy none 17:00 76 42 6 203 (SSW) 945 mstly cldy none 18:00 71 41 7 189 (S) 1105 mstly cldy none 19:00 72 42 12 187 (S) 926 ptly cldy none 20:00 68 43 8 151 (SSE) 1052 mstly clr none 21:00 67 43 9 133 (SE) 1084 cloudy none 22:00 65 44 10 72 (ENE) 1268 cloudy lt rain 23:00 58 27 20 76 (ENE) 1101 cloudy none 00:00 59 44 20 81 (E) 488 cloudy none 01:00 62 43 19 125 (SE) 758 cloudy none 02:00 59 44 12 113 (ESE) 757 cloudy none 03:00 63 39 12 118 (ESE) 638 cloudy none 04:00 64 40 13 178 (S) 903 cloudy none 05:00 63 41 12 212 (SSW) 881 mstly cldy none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
