Opened at 16:30 to start venting. Had few clouds and great seeing all night. There was a collimation failure after switching to echelle around midnight. Did a quick and dirty fix for homing secondary encoder A that Russet helped with. Secondary mirror homed this morning. Lunar eclipse happened tonight! Observed until the moon got too low in the sky. Got some interesting Apollo data, and it was also just really neat seeing the laser pointed at the red moon :) ------- FAILURE LOG ------- FAILURE MODE TIME PROG INSTR TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- GS02 echelle T/H 00:13 00:37 Sec encoder A collimation failure ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 18:26 dssi 425( 1530) -71 77 12.5 13.0 13.3 12.7 12.3 692nm 0.60 00:40 ecamera 465( 57) 238 72 11.4 10.6 11.2 10.5 10.9 ND4 0.62 03:01 APOLLO 485( 1820) -6 46 10.1 9.5 10.2 9.3 9.5 -- 0.90 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 62 14 14 228 (SW) 380 mstly clr none 17:00 58 12 18 247 (WSW) 417 mstly clr none 18:00 54 12 17 235 (SW) 295 clear none 19:00 54 11 17 242 (WSW) 269 clear none 20:00 54 12 10 263 (W) 324 clear none 21:00 54 14 14 239 (WSW) 405 clear none 22:00 53 14 11 263 (W) 342 mstly clr none 23:00 52 14 12 267 (W) 254 mstly clr none 00:00 52 12 14 266 (W) 245 mstly clr none 01:00 52 12 15 266 (W) 290 clear none 02:00 51 12 15 254 (WSW) 432 clear none 03:00 50 12 14 263 (W) 313 clear none 04:00 50 14 17 265 (W) 366 clear none 05:00 50 13 17 265 (W) 322 clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
