One layer of clouds cleared up just as another layer moved in. That layer improved once (the dome was closed and) the moon was at very high airmass. The time accounted as OBS was when we were attempting to take data, but we didn't actually get anything useful. The second program had better luck although the clouds did not stay away entirely. The observers for the final program were late logging in, but I focused KOSMOS before they arrived. ARCTIC left mounted so an observer can get flats in the late afternoon. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- FAILURE MODE TIME PROG INSTR TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 21:27 APOLLO 350( 1908) -3 31 12.4 13.9 14.1 13.4 12.6 530 1.90 23:59 arctic 400( 1150) -54 77 12.1 11.9 12.5 11.9 11.9 sdss_i 0.72 04:37 kosmos 425( 1047) -20 77 12.5 11.3 12.0 11.3 11.8 - 0.63 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 63 36 10 44 (NE) 434 ptly cldy none 17:00 63 37 7 90 (E) 433 ptly cldy lt rain 18:00 60 39 12 52 (NE) 443 ptly cldy none 19:00 57 41 18 76 (ENE) 488 mstly cldy none 20:00 55 43 17 76 (ENE) 568 mstly cldy none 21:00 55 45 18 76 (ENE) mstly cldy none 22:00 54 47 13 88 (E) mstly cldy none 23:00 54 46 16 74 (ENE) ptly cldy none 00:00 54 45 14 79 (E) ptly cldy none 01:00 54 45 15 79 (E) mstly clr none 02:00 55 42 8 88 (E) 555 mstly clr none 03:00 55 43 0 282 (WNW) 635 ptly cldy none 04:00 54 42 4 113 (ESE) 565 ptly cldy none 05:00 55 42 6 94 (E) 580 ptly cldy none 06:00 54 42 6 91 (E) 622 ptly cldy none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
