I got my TSpec Aux LN2 fill schedule mixed up; I filled TSpec Aux Sunday afternoon, but it is actually scheduled for Monday afternoons. The Echelle slitviewer filter display (that became offset by two positions last night) was corrected by issuing the offending sequence twice. The displayed settings for Clear and the 5 ND filters were confirmed by checking flux counts of test exposures across all positions. I lost command of the ARCTIC filter wheel after populating and installing FW4 for tomorrow night. When FW4 was loaded back into ARCTIC, I may not have waited long enough after the home command before trying to select a filter. The new wiki instructions to troubleshoot a non-responsive filter wheel resolved the problem. Dataq stopped scrolling. My attempts to follow the restart procedures caused an error message that asked for a CD/DVD-ROM drive be defined in the virtual machine. Ignoring the prompt did not work; dataq was left inop. Echelle slitviewer froze 3 or 4 times, requiring a restart (hub startNubs, etc.). It recovered with enough time to collect one spectrum before the humidity crossed the closure limit. Humidity and clouds persisted for the rest of the night. OU03 science requires long exposures, so they gave up by 03:30. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- FAILURE MODE TIME PROG INSTR TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 23:13 ecamera 650( 401) 173 77 11.8 13.9 15.4 13.6 12.1 ND1 1.19 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 62 44 3 113 (ESE) 314 cloudy none 17:00 62 50 10 111 (ESE) 493 mstly cldy none 18:00 61 49 8 92 (E) 422 mstly cldy lt rain 19:00 58 50 1 228 (SW) mstly cldy humid 20:00 56 53 20 59 (ENE) cloudy humid 21:00 55 51 13 84 (E) cloudy humid 22:00 53 51 18 58 (ENE) ptly cldy humid 23:00 54 48 18 71 (ENE) ptly cldy none 00:00 52 50 23 68 (ENE) ptly cldy humid 01:00 52 50 24 76 (ENE) ptly cldy humid 02:00 50 49 22 71 (ENE) mstly cldy humid 03:00 51 45 16 74 (ENE) cloudy none 04:00 53 41 11 87 (E) 300 mstly cldy none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
