GLORIOUS THUNDERSTORMS!! The lightning was insane! I honestly didn't think we would open all night. But the clouds cleared around 2am and, somehow...the humidity didn't ultra spike, just kinda spike. We were able to open around 4am! Seeing was even good! Sadly, we only were able to observe an hour before twilight hit and the dust counts went over the limit Dataq needed a restart. Mirror covers needed a restart at the beginning of the night but, interestingly, not at the end. There were some power flickers so I'm surprised everything was well behaved. Telescope parked at 83 alt. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- FAILURE MODE TIME PROG INSTR TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 04:17 kosmos 303( 1071) -43 42 14.0 13.9 14.2 13.8 13.6 -- 1.60 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 74 49 13 203 (SSW) 704 cloudy none 17:00 63 51 13 100 (E) 1221 cloudy lt rain 18:00 62 52 12 84 (E) 1378 cloudy lt rain 19:00 60 52 9 92 (E) cloudy lt rain 20:00 62 49 22 125 (SE) 1113 mstly cldy none 21:00 61 50 12 126 (SE) 1154 ptly cldy lt rain 22:00 59 51 12 122 (ESE) ptly cldy none 23:00 60 52 12 145 (SE) cloudy rain 00:00 57 53 12 184 (S) cloudy lt rain 01:00 55 51 6 263 (W) cloudy lt rain 02:00 55 49 7 336 (NNW) mstly clr none 03:00 56 48 5 260 (W) clear none 04:00 57 49 8 265 (W) clear none 05:00 58 44 6 263 (W) 3486 clear dust Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
