I tried moving kosmos to a rotation of zero and moving the disperser again with no luck. I had to go upstairs and move it by hand. The night started with lots of virga and clouds. I don't think the rain ever technically reached the ground, but we were surrounded for a while and the dust was high. The clouds cleared and the dust stayed down long enough for the REU class to get almost two hours on sky. Then the dust jumped agin, peaking around 15K. It was still over 10K at 4:30 and we called it. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- FAILURE MODE TIME PROG INSTR TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 22:06 kosmos 215( 1452) 123 73 18.9 20.1 20.5 19.7 19.3 -- 1.56 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 73 37 10 197 (SSW) 2851 ptly cldy none 17:00 73 35 20 212 (SSW) 3096 ptly cldy none 18:00 75 34 11 248 (WSW) 3175 ptly cldy dust 19:00 74 38 17 183 (S) 3028 ptly cldy dust 20:00 65 42 21 133 (SE) 2941 ptly cldy dust 21:00 65 39 19 136 (SE) 3319 clear none 22:00 66 34 19 153 (SSE) mstly clr none 23:00 67 32 14 179 (S) 3576 clear dust 00:00 64 40 15 159 (SSE) 45711 clear dust 01:00 65 37 26 200 (SSW) 4864 clear dust 02:00 64 35 23 192 (SSW) 5247 clear dust 03:00 62 39 20 210 (SSW) 11332 clear none 04:00 62 24 14 239 (WSW) 10278 clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
