It quickly cleared after sunset but then the wind shifted to the east and we had high dust almost until dawn. Around 3:30, the wind shifted to the south and the dust counts remained just below the limit and I decided to open. We were able to stay open for the rest of the night! Seeing was better than I expected at less than 2". When I went up to do fills I found that UPS #5 was beeping and reported "power module fault, main frame module: L2, level 2 from top". I sent out an email to Bill & Co. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- FAILURE MODE TIME PROG INSTR TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 04:23 ecamera 344( 366) 152 41 15.4 15.1 15.6 15.2 15.1 Clear 1.80 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 69 41 15 5 (N) 3109 ptly cldy none 17:00 75 42 9 38 (NE) 3419 ptly cldy none 18:00 70 42 6 109 (ESE) 3173 ptly cldy none 19:00 67 46 13 117 (ESE) 4042 ptly cldy dust 20:00 65 46 14 89 (E) 4712 clear dust 21:00 63 48 15 87 (E) 4662 clear dust 22:00 61 48 17 78 (ENE) 4701 clear dust 23:00 60 48 16 84 (E) 4952 clear dust 00:00 59 47 18 78 (ENE) 4698 clear dust 01:00 58 46 13 106 (ESE) 4216 clear dust 02:00 60 44 9 113 (ESE) 4037 clear dust 03:00 60 46 19 152 (SSE) 3861 clear dust 04:00 60 45 16 162 (SSE) 3635 clear none 05:00 61 44 7 179 (S) 3497 clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
