Clashing weather systems brought in unexpected clouds and radar, and we stayed closed for most of the night, especially low fast moving clouds. Once the clouds cleared the sky still looked pretty murky, while the moon was lower it looked orange, so there's likely some smoke in the air as well. We were able to open for a little under an hour at the end of the night once the radar cleared up and before the dust counts got too high. Optical all-sky camera was frozen this afternoon and did not revive when I restarted the computer, so thank you to Cary for coming over to power cycle the camera. Apollo is currently down for repairs and handed the last hour of the night over to NM07. KOSMOS ccd temp start of night 189, end of night 179. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- FAILURE MODE TIME PROG INSTR TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 04:29 ecamera 303( 424) -11 52 17.9 17.3 17.8 17.5 17.4 ND2 0.96 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 75 33 11 61 (ENE) 2562 ptly cldy none 17:00 80 30 11 291 (WNW) 2509 ptly cldy none 18:00 80 31 17 268 (W) 2566 ptly cldy none 19:00 80 30 6 251 (WSW) 2338 ptly cldy none 20:00 60 38 37 72 (ENE) 3199 ptly cldy none 21:00 60 37 23 77 (ENE) 2141 mstly cldy none 22:00 61 35 18 85 (E) 1880 mstly cldy none 23:00 64 32 13 88 (E) 2010 mstly cldy none 00:00 65 31 21 131 (SE) 2119 mstly cldy none 01:00 65 34 17 129 (SE) 2811 mstly cldy none 02:00 65 34 20 137 (SE) 3426 mstly cldy none 03:00 64 35 13 177 (S) 2662 mstly clr none 04:00 64 35 13 160 (SSE) 3231 ptly cldy none 05:00 66 34 13 185 (S) 3904 ptly cldy dust Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
