ARCTIC shutter had to be reset (observer's truss flats were unexpectedly saturated). No other instrument issues tonight. Nearby radar delayed our opening. The storm systems were essentially stationary, but they dissipated near midnight. Pollen counts were elevated, with readings over 200 in the late afternoon. The pollen event diminished also around midnight, and we were able to open and remain open for the remainder of the night. Science ended a few minutes past 12-degree twilight. No telescope issues tonight. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- FAILURE MODE TIME PROG INSTR TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 00:20 arctic 38( 1142) -5 30 13.9 14.5 15.3 14.3 14.1 CUVR 5in 2.25 00:54 arctic 234( 1326) -58 34 14.6 14.3 15.0 14.3 14.4 CUVR 5in 1.34 02:25 arctic 283( 1332) 52 21 13.1 13.1 13.8 13.0 12.9 CUVR 5in 2.01 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 65 32 10 265 (W) 2391 cloudy none 17:00 73 33 11 232 (SW) 2274 cloudy none 18:00 62 32 10 136 (SE) 2165 mstly cldy none 19:00 62 32 16 152 (SSE) 2152 mstly cldy none 20:00 60 32 10 148 (SSE) 2081 mstly cldy none 21:00 58 31 6 147 (SSE) 1968 mstly cldy none 22:00 58 31 16 136 (SE) 2235 mstly cldy none 23:00 57 29 15 142 (SE) 2535 ptly cldy none 00:00 56 30 1 171 (S) 2281 clear none 01:00 58 29 15 192 (SSW) 2748 mstly clr none 02:00 56 27 15 197 (SSW) 2465 clear none 03:00 55 28 15 189 (S) 2524 clear none 04:00 55 21 11 195 (SSW) 2010 mstly clr none 05:00 55 17 7 237 (WSW) 2208 clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
