Not sure how large it was but the USGS report is a 5.3 mag earthquake located 57KM S of White City NM at this same time. I was up in the enclosure at the time it occurred and I felt the building shake (similiar to a wind gust rocking the building) and a few seconds later a larger shake that rattled the 180L LN2 dewars back and forth several seconds. I closed at 22:35 due to approaching thunderstorm. It looked like the storm was going to move out after about 01:00 but the clouds lingered all night long with radar returns around us. We finally gave up at 05:00. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- FAILURE MODE TIME PROG INSTR TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 20:47 NICFPS 686( 1863) 104 69 7.0 8.1 8.7 7.3 7.1 MK-J 1.37 20:48 NA2gdr 49187(49187) 104 69 7.0 8.0 8.6 7.2 7.1 clear 2.15 22:17 NICFPS 420( 1513) 205 49 5.6 6.1 6.8 5.6 5.6 MK-J 2.05 22:18 NA2gdr 50266(50266) 205 49 5.6 6.1 6.8 5.6 5.6 clear 2.65 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 57 30 16 197 (SSW) 1440 ptly cldy none 17:00 57 27 18 204 (SSW) 1744 mstly clr none 18:00 53 25 12 201 (SSW) 1880 mstly clr none 19:00 51 22 13 145 (SE) 2246 mstly clr none 20:00 46 31 17 86 (E) 1218 ptly cldy none 21:00 44 30 23 76 (ENE) 1518 ptly cldy none 22:00 42 30 18 88 (E) 1599 ptly cldy none 23:00 42 30 14 91 (E) 1729 cloudy dust 00:00 41 33 15 224 (SW) cloudy none 01:00 38 33 23 102 (ESE) ptly cldy humid 02:00 40 32 10 71 (ENE) mstly cldy none 03:00 42 32 8 93 (E) mstly cldy none 04:00 40 33 13 118 (ESE) mstly cldy none 05:00 43 32 21 127 (SE) 2543 mstly cldy none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
