Normally this isn't that big of a deal but we had a late afternoon thunderstorm and I did see a few water drips on the floor behind the telescope. Since the telescope was at 83 alt I could not inspect the mirror (I had left a stop button engaged in the control room). I will park low in the morning and inspect the primary before I close. Sky was cloudy all of the first half with it starting to clear at the start of the send half tonight. We got on the sky at 01:10 When I went to focus the NA2 guider I got a Download failed: HTTP/1.1.403 Forbidden on the NA2 Guider window. I just took an image manually a few minutes earlier. It looks like the NA2 focus script was able to see the image. I looked at the primary and saw one drip at the top (back) of the mirror. I am not sure if that was there before or new. Humidity dropped at 04:15 and we re-opened at 04:30. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- FAILURE MODE TIME PROG INSTR TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 01:18 arctic 304( 995) 288 56 3.5 6.1 8.6 6.0 4.5 SDSS_r 3.38 01:18 NA2gdr 34086(34086) 288 56 3.5 6.0 8.4 5.8 4.4 clear 3.10 02:01 arctic 435( 1056) 24 54 3.2 4.5 7.2 4.1 3.6 SDSS_r 3.37 02:04 NA2gdr 33559(33559) 23 54 3.5 4.4 7.2 4.1 3.7 clear 4.00 04:41 arctic 597( 1100) 100 46 5.0 2.0 6.2 2.6 3.7 SDSS_r 1.54 04:43 NA2gdr 35998(35998) 99 46 5.3 1.9 6.0 2.6 3.9 clear 1.70 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 47 33 20 84 (E) 1140 mstly cldy none 17:00 44 33 17 82 (E) 1165 cloudy lt rain 18:00 37 31 26 59 (ENE) cloudy lt rain 19:00 36 32 23 67 (ENE) cloudy lt rain 20:00 36 32 26 73 (ENE) cloudy lt rain 21:00 38 33 18 74 (ENE) cloudy lt rain 22:00 42 31 24 33 (NNE) cloudy none 23:00 45 27 16 33 (NNE) 2277 cloudy none 00:00 46 24 17 29 (NNE) 1589 cloudy none 01:00 44 20 7 88 (E) 1803 ptly cldy none 02:00 38 32 23 66 (ENE) mstly clr none 03:00 36 32 18 76 (ENE) clear humid 04:00 38 31 12 67 (ENE) clear none 05:00 37 26 4 18 (NNE) 1643 clear none 06:00 34 32 10 80 (E) clear humid Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
