Noticed an atypical roll-off along the upper and lower edges of the first ARCTIC bias generated during the checkout script. The next bias did not show the roll off to the same degree, indicating the bias frames change. They became stable later during a series of exposures. Dust, snow, clouds, humidity and radar kept us closed. No on-sky time tonight. During checkout and into NM01 we confirmed AGILE rotator moves smoothly across the entire range and at telescope altitudes of 10, 45, and 80 degrees. The motion lock-out pin does need to be kept clear of the rotation base and the provided cotter pin serves this function. We were also able to explore some exposure settings and other options with AGILE and NICFPS using in-dome test exposures during NM01. Snow began just after 23:00 and the snow program was started a bit afterward. The program was stopped after the snowfall ended just before midnight, with only a small accumulation on the ground but vehicle windows were covered. Roof cameras showed little if any accumulated on the roof, but other factors kept us closed. The dome is parked facing South just in case. The final program of the night gave up by 04:00 since their primary science transient event had passed. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- FAILURE MODE TIME PROG INSTR TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 35 18 26 263 (W) 6949 cloudy dust 17:00 36 18 17 268 (W) 7548 cloudy dust 18:00 36 16 25 253 (WSW) 19232 cloudy dust 19:00 36 15 28 221 (SW) 16097 cloudy dust 20:00 35 15 32 237 (WSW) 14545 cloudy dust 21:00 34 18 30 247 (WSW) 14044 cloudy dust 22:00 29 25 21 230 (SW) cloudy humid 23:00 29 25 7 207 (SSW) cloudy snow 00:00 31 21 16 206 (SSW) 6819 cloudy dust 01:00 31 19 18 223 (SW) 6404 cloudy dust 02:00 31 19 15 238 (WSW) 5252 cloudy dust 03:00 31 17 17 240 (WSW) 4530 cloudy dust 04:00 30 16 14 261 (W) 4535 cloudy dust Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
