We had some really drastic swings in dust at the start of the night, but stayed open. Closed for dust at around 11:55pm. Arcsat got lost, I had to fix the clocks and pointing. Candace (NM02) was observing Venus on Echelle from about 4:30am til sunrise. No IOL because of cals. Collimation check done. Agile rotator tests and some twilight flats were done. More testing needed on the arctic diffuser. Intermittent failures. Pointing model data was taken, but could not be implemented due to error in tek recognizing the graphics window. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- FAILURE MODE TIME PROG INSTR TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 01:34 NA2gdr 35509(35509) 106 78 9.9 10.3 10.9 10.2 10.0 clear 1.28 04:37 ecamera 314( 83) 97 27 9.6 9.4 10.0 9.4 9.4 ND3 2.07 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 58 30 11 263 (W) 3073 clear none 17:00 62 26 16 204 (SSW) 2559 clear none 18:00 60 23 15 232 (SW) 2435 clear none 19:00 57 24 7 189 (S) 2715 clear none 20:00 48 31 6 184 (S) 3092 clear none 21:00 51 23 10 200 (SSW) 2758 clear none 22:00 53 23 14 226 (SW) 2782 clear none 23:00 52 24 12 214 (SW) 3421 clear dust 00:00 52 25 15 200 (SSW) 4232 clear dust 01:00 51 24 15 204 (SSW) 2535 clear none 02:00 51 26 15 187 (S) 2725 clear none 03:00 50 29 14 184 (S) 2403 clear none 04:00 50 31 17 189 (S) 3028 clear none 05:00 50 33 27 202 (SSW) 3317 clear none 06:00 49 32 22 219 (SW) 3188 clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
