Photometric skies all night, but variable seeing. Since AP03 did not need ARCTIC, BY01 was given a few extra minutes and AP03 came on a few minutes early. During the Apollo time, many (all?) of us had our programs (TUI and Sloan Ops) just disconnect. Not all drop-offs were at the same time, but ObsA and Sloan were. Recovery was just to simply re-start the processes that dropped off, but the cause is unknown. During the KOSMOS session, the NA2 Guider was focused as an option in case the KOS Slitviewer was not showing guide stars. The NA2 Guider focusing script was repeated a few times - all successfully showing several stars as the focus was being refined. The telescope was slewed to a new position prior to completing the final focus sweep, so the sweep was canceled. The last 'best focus' value was retained. However, once at the new target, the NA2 Guider filters were lost. They were restored by issuing two commands in the Log window (gmech parameters and gcamera status). ------- FAILURE LOG ------- FAILURE MODE TIME PROG INSTR TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 20:04 klow 600( 869) 6 51 -1.9 -0.8 -1.3 -1.5 -1.7 - 2.20 20:15 NA2gdr 35801(35801) 160 46 -1.6 -1.0 -1.3 -1.7 -1.8 - 2.22 01:29 ecamera 312( -551) 61 63 -3.4 -3.6 -2.8 -3.7 -3.6 ND5 0.96 02:48 tcamera 236( 592) -4 54 -3.6 -4.2 -3.5 -4.4 -4.1 Ks 1.64 04:04 APOLLO 250( 1135) 24 26 -3.9 -4.7 -4.0 -4.9 -4.3 530 1.80 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 29 -8 3 286 (WNW) 691 clear none 17:00 31 -10 2 325 (NW) 644 clear none 18:00 30 -10 10 324 (NW) 676 clear none 19:00 29 -9 12 347 (NNW) 506 clear none 20:00 29 -8 8 60 (ENE) 492 clear none 21:00 29 -10 9 6 (N) 452 clear none 22:00 29 -10 5 6 (N) 476 clear none 23:00 28 -10 8 335 (NNW) 455 clear none 00:00 28 -9 3 239 (WSW) 412 clear none 01:00 27 -10 6 271 (W) 417 clear none 02:00 26 -9 8 267 (W) 521 clear none 03:00 24 -9 9 316 (NW) 544 clear none 04:00 25 -10 9 341 (NNW) 597 clear none 05:00 25 -11 9 353 (N) 537 clear none 06:00 26 -10 6 360 (N) 492 clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
