High dust and winds persisted throughout A half and a bit into B Half. Once open we stayed open until dawn. Power flickered in the early evening and the mirror covers had to be reset, and this also set off a notification about ARCTIC and the USB which self-reset. In light of recent issues, a couple of test 15-s Object exposures were taken with ARCTIC even though it was not on tonight. The resulting quad, medium, 2x2 bin exposures were normal, with no dropped quads, no gradients, and no quads with constant levels. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- FAILURE MODE TIME PROG INSTR TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 01:52 dssi -190( 415) 113 54 -4.7 -2.1 -0.1 -3.4 -4.1 692 2.40 03:46 dssi 200( 650) 196 61 -5.3 -5.4 -4.5 -5.4 -5.3 692 1.50 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 43 13 49 272 (W) 186767 clear dust 17:00 37 11 37 278 (W) 415639 clear dust 18:00 34 -1 40 271 (W) 167759 clear dust 19:00 32 -11 35 271 (W) 88854 clear dust 20:00 29 -8 29 273 (W) 35900 clear dust 21:00 28 -6 21 282 (WNW) 14677 clear dust 22:00 27 -4 22 285 (WNW) 6960 clear dust 23:00 26 0 24 281 (W) 7251 clear dust 00:00 25 3 28 306 (NW) 3351 clear dust 01:00 24 6 14 274 (W) 7354 clear dust 02:00 24 6 10 298 (WNW) 2513 clear none 03:00 23 5 6 340 (NNW) 1231 clear none 04:00 22 3 17 311 (NW) 1003 clear none 05:00 21 1 14 317 (NW) 770 clear none 06:00 20 3 17 304 (NW) 1044 clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
