We lost power at 3:14am, which was rather fitting. The night started with high dust and wind, which only got worse as the night progressed. We saw the lunar eclipse for a few min before the clouds took it all. Winds kicked up to a little over 60 mph. We had a bunch of power flickers before we finally lost power and went on generator power at 3:14 am. No one was able to get any data. I used the time to run a bunch of echelle calibration tests. I took full cals with the 1.6x3.2, 1.6x4.7, 0.9x0.9 slits as well as cals with no slit installed. The engineering email gives more details. I reinstalled the 1.6x3.2" slit, took new masks, and updated the pointing in the instrument block. We are currently on generator power. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- FAILURE MODE TIME PROG INSTR TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 49 14 22 257 (WSW) 5451 clear dust 17:00 49 14 28 216 (SW) 8304 clear dust 18:00 45 12 31 221 (SW) 54580 clear dust 19:00 42 11 36 222 (SW) 63398 clear dust 20:00 41 13 48 216 (SW) 54389 clear dust 21:00 40 15 50 241 (WSW) 37988 clear dust 22:00 38 16 28 235 (SW) 36589 mstly clr dust 23:00 37 17 44 227 (SW) 34897 mstly clr dust 00:00 35 16 44 220 (SW) 77253 mstly cldy dust 01:00 34 17 32 254 (WSW) 67446 cloudy dust 02:00 32 22 44 243 (WSW) 104593 cloudy fog 03:00 27 27 42 248 (WSW) cloudy lt snow 04:00 23 23 44 266 (W) cloudy fog 05:00 20 20 35 271 (W) cloudy fog Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
