We took lots of throughput data and also checked that the boas level remained stable through the night. KOSMOS IEB1 was power cycled to try to reduce motor failures, but it did not recover gracefully. Further recovery work will be needed during the day. Shack-Hartmann recommended a significant change in collimation, but there was almost no change in pointing from the last pointing model, so the collimation must have been a reversal of some other change that occurred in between. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- FAILURE MODE TIME PROG INSTR TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 20:30 arctic 202( 799) 21 53 2.6 4.1 4.2 3.3 3.0 SDSS_g 1.19 21:10 arctic 378( 894) -67 31 2.8 2.0 3.6 2.6 2.7 SDSS_i 1.19 00:07 arctic 360( 834) 19 50 2.5 1.4 2.9 2.4 2.4 SDSS_i 1.25 03:16 shack 350( 1378) 40 69 3.3 1.8 3.3 2.7 3.1 - 0.90 Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 49 -3 12 235 (SW) 486 clear none 17:00 47 -3 12 245 (WSW) 399 clear none 18:00 46 -3 10 242 (WSW) 508 clear none 19:00 40 -10 10 236 (SW) 654 clear none 20:00 37 -4 13 210 (SSW) 1076 clear none 21:00 37 -1 14 201 (SSW) 3302 clear dust 22:00 36 2 13 236 (SW) 3797 clear dust 23:00 37 3 11 239 (WSW) 3600 clear dust 00:00 37 2 8 260 (W) 3435 clear dust 01:00 37 1 14 266 (W) 3104 clear none 02:00 39 1 19 291 (WNW) 2862 clear none 03:00 38 1 21 297 (WNW) 2597 clear none 04:00 39 3 18 288 (WNW) 2572 clear none 05:00 39 3 17 278 (W) 2531 clear none 06:00 38 2 16 275 (W) 2449 clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
