The night started with clouds, high winds, and dust, though, it was hard to tell where the dust stopped and the clouds began. Winds peaked at 50 mph and 1.0 um dust reached 103k. I thought the whole night was going to be a wash but we ALMOST opened near 1am, when the winds and dust dropped into the. However, on waiting for one last reading, the dust shot right back up. By 4am the dust was at 60k and we were starting to get radar returns from the clouds. Apollo needed to start by 4am to get any useful satellite data so we called it. Russet noticed that the enclosure dust counts are rather high and that the press fans may not be workings as well as they should. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- FAILURE MODE TIME PROG INSTR TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 40 17 28 213 (SSW) 22752 cloudy dust 17:00 40 14 35 265 (W) 89420 cloudy dust 18:00 39 13 29 267 (W) 72010 cloudy dust 19:00 38 14 28 256 (WSW) 33236 cloudy dust 20:00 37 12 40 258 (WSW) 21210 cloudy dust 21:00 36 11 24 263 (W) 7844 cloudy dust 22:00 34 10 18 251 (WSW) 5603 cloudy dust 23:00 33 9 26 273 (W) 6091 mstly cldy dust 00:00 31 9 22 274 (W) 4324 mstly cldy dust 01:00 30 9 19 255 (WSW) 5174 cloudy dust 02:00 29 13 29 233 (SW) 11243 cloudy dust 03:00 27 13 22 253 (WSW) 12494 cloudy dust 04:00 26 12 18 261 (W) 40991 cloudy dust Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
