Arctic ion pump failed and was noticed around 4am. Arctic was just coming off the telescope when I noticed the failure. Email has been sent with images. Wind was a pest for about three quarters of the night, but it never got so bad that we had to close. It made seeing extremely variable though. Cals were being taken at the beginning of the night which delayed opening. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- FAILURE MODE TIME PROG INSTR TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 18:17 kosmos 574( 968) 321 69 5.9 6.3 6.7 6.2 5.7 -- 0.95 00:13 kosmos 449( 824) -128 35 6.9 5.5 6.1 5.7 6.2 -- 2.32 01:41 arctic 437( 949) -134 21 6.9 5.9 6.6 6.3 6.6 SDSS_r 3.50 02:54 arctic 536( 1021) 60 47 6.6 5.9 6.5 6.1 6.4 SDSS_r 1.17 04:30 kosmos 486( 872) 27 54 7.1 6.0 6.7 5.9 6.6 -- 1.03 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 42 7 2 359 (N) 284 mstly clr none 17:00 43 1 13 355 (N) 183 clear none 18:00 43 3 24 27 (NNE) 197 clear none 19:00 43 2 16 4 (N) 183 clear none 20:00 43 1 24 15 (NNE) 181 clear none 21:00 43 2 19 26 (NNE) 175 clear none 22:00 44 4 12 21 (NNE) 132 clear none 23:00 45 2 5 61 (ENE) 99 clear none 00:00 44 0 26 74 (ENE) 188 clear none 01:00 45 -3 28 74 (ENE) 101 clear none 02:00 45 -2 11 30 (NNE) 110 clear none 03:00 44 -2 16 74 (ENE) 92 clear none 04:00 45 2 15 72 (ENE) 114 clear none 05:00 45 3 14 59 (ENE) 131 clear none 06:00 44 1 1 220 (SW) 121 clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
