We opened up around 20:20 when there seemed to be some patches between the clouds, and were able to focus, but we were unfortunately trying in vain; we didn't get much of anything useful. I stopped the telescope and closed the mirror covers but kept the dome open for a while, but the wind gusts came up and pushed the telescope to a higher altitude than it was stopped at. I closed the dome, and did some test slews--no problems. Throughout B-half we had fog blowing through, and were unable to reopen. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- FAILURE MODE TIME PROG INSTR TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 20:39 kosmos 490( 924) 278 58 6.4 7.1 7.7 7.3 6.4 -- 1.03 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 47 34 17 244 (WSW) 556 mstly cldy none 17:00 47 36 23 259 (W) 725 cloudy none 18:00 45 36 18 252 (WSW) cloudy none 19:00 45 33 20 258 (WSW) 839 cloudy none 20:00 45 28 19 261 (W) 886 mstly cldy none 21:00 44 31 23 259 (W) 1091 cloudy none 22:00 43 32 18 265 (W) 859 cloudy none 23:00 42 32 22 260 (W) 816 cloudy none 00:00 41 32 25 260 (W) cloudy fog 01:00 40 32 22 265 (W) cloudy fog 02:00 39 32 22 254 (WSW) cloudy fog 03:00 38 32 20 263 (W) mstly cldy fog 04:00 37 32 19 263 (W) mstly cldy fog 05:00 36 31 27 261 (W) mstly cldy fog 06:00 36 32 19 271 (W) mstly cldy fog Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
