Camfoc and colfoc were both listed as -1. Restarting the ICC allowed me to set camfoc and colfoc but I was unable to take images; the ICC returned an error about the value type of gfoc (kcamera focus) which we were unable to query as the slitviewer focus is currently offline. Gordon came in and figured out a workaround that allowed us to use the spectrograph during B-half. Thanks Gordon! We were only able to observe for a little while during A-half before 1-micron dust popped up. Max of about 12000 cts, and it came down slowly, we were finally able to reopen but a few minutes before changeover. UW03 gave up about half an hour early so OU03 got on sky a few minutes early. We had another smaller dust event from 04:30 to 05:30. KOSMOS observations went pretty smoothly despite our lack of slitviewer! ------- FAILURE LOG ------- FAILURE MODE TIME PROG INSTR TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 18:00 ecamera 400( -124) -59 37 2.7 3.4 3.7 3.2 2.7 ND4 1.37 00:07 kimage 250( 640) 122 63 0.9 0.8 2.5 1.2 0.9 -- 1.32 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 41 14 27 214 (SW) 544 clear none 17:00 38 12 21 209 (SSW) 491 clear none 18:00 37 14 24 219 (SW) 772 clear none 19:00 37 14 16 256 (WSW) 1028 clear dust 20:00 37 12 23 211 (SSW) 10045 clear dust 21:00 36 13 19 205 (SSW) 6653 clear dust 22:00 36 11 20 208 (SSW) 7468 clear dust 23:00 35 12 19 210 (SSW) 4365 clear dust 00:00 34 11 15 202 (SSW) 3961 clear dust 01:00 33 8 14 198 (SSW) 3169 clear dust 02:00 34 6 17 208 (SSW) 1596 clear none 03:00 35 6 22 212 (SSW) 1817 clear none 04:00 35 6 19 203 (SSW) 2850 ptly cldy dust 05:00 35 8 24 203 (SSW) 5141 ptly cldy dust 06:00 35 8 15 185 (S) 3211 ptly cldy dust Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
