Observing Specialist: C.Gray
A real bummer of a night. An electrical issue occurred this afternoon and the dome is currently not able to move. As such we cannot slew the telescope until the dome is repaired. As reported by Bill:
"The Otero County Electric was doing line maintenance today and we were operating on the backup generator. When the switch over back to utility occurred this afternoon the enclosure motors would not power up. Ben Harris came back to the site and was able to isolate the problem to a 50AMP breaker that feeds the enclosure amplifier. We do not have a spare on hand. We will investigate how common / uncommon this particular breaker is tomorrow but be aware it could be several days before we can get a replacement in hand. The telescope enclosure is unable to be moved until repaired."
I left fans on all night to help keep the telescope cold in case we are able to open tomorrow.
