We used the A-half engineering time for DIFFIT engineering, with some successful on sky tests! We zeroed the rotator again tonight before DIFFIT (-0.015) Then we switched to Apollo, and were able to get good returns despite the full moon... right up until the control computer dropped off the face of the earth. We powered things down for now. See PR2218 for more info. When moving the tert to TR4 for Shack, got an LMSTOP error. Homed rotation in talk2boxes and the move succeeded after that. Restarted stripchart plots because they weren't showing plots, even though they weren't frozen. Other engineering tasks done tonight: - Shack-Hartmann collimation check - Pointing Model (handful of Az large fiducial errors while running, also one Alt motion error slewing downward around 70) ------- FAILURE LOG ------- FAILURE MODE TIME PROG INSTR TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 23:26 APOLLO 325( 2034) 42 68 13.3 13.5 14.2 13.5 13.2 530 1.20 01:15 shack 250( 1782) 141 60 13.1 12.4 13.0 12.1 12.4 -- 1.40 02:20 NA2gdr 3725(37725) 89 59 12.6 12.1 12.8 11.9 12.0 Red_ND2 1.13 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 67 41 26 247 (WSW) 992 clear none 17:00 68 42 20 247 (WSW) 984 ptly cldy none 18:00 66 42 19 239 (WSW) 1578 ptly cldy none 19:00 63 38 18 262 (W) 1170 mstly clr none 20:00 60 28 17 272 (W) 1753 clear none 21:00 60 23 16 268 (W) 1245 clear none 22:00 58 29 12 317 (NW) 1715 clear none 23:00 58 29 15 307 (NW) 1087 clear none 00:00 58 33 12 297 (WNW) 707 clear none 01:00 54 37 4 263 (W) 740 clear none 02:00 55 38 6 340 (NNW) 758 mstly clr none 03:00 55 40 9 298 (WNW) 834 mstly clr none 04:00 54 40 6 354 (N) 831 mstly clr none 05:00 54 40 6 331 (NNW) 860 mstly clr none 06:00 53 40 6 312 (NW) 849 mstly clr none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
