We opened the dome as scheduled. Dust increased just past midnight. Conditions in dome were okay though, so we stayed open. Handheld dust counter matches inside dome dust counter, whereas the outside dust counter has been consistently reading double the value of the one inside the dome. Might be worth looking into outside dust counter to make sure it's working right. We restarted the telemetry windows to see if that helped the irregular velocity pattern that was observed when slewing, but it did not seem to help. Seeing went south during the 2nd half of the night. No telescope problems tonight. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- FAILURE MODE TIME PROG INSTR TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 20:19 tcamera 379( 1884) 31 53 16.8 20.2 20.1 20.5 17.6 Ks 1.94 01:17 ecamera 438( 365) 67 81 13.8 13.5 14.2 13.6 13.7 ND1 1.80 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 69 44 2 103 (ESE) 2265 mstly clr none 17:00 72 44 9 85 (E) 2020 mstly clr none 18:00 70 42 14 48 (NE) 1837 mstly clr none 19:00 67 37 10 88 (E) 1508 clear none 20:00 63 39 25 76 (ENE) 1777 clear none 21:00 61 40 22 83 (E) 1911 clear none 22:00 59 43 21 88 (E) 2301 clear none 23:00 58 44 19 92 (E) 2552 clear none 00:00 58 46 17 84 (E) 3105 clear dust 01:00 57 49 13 84 (E) 4299 clear dust 02:00 57 50 12 88 (E) 4642 clear dust 03:00 56 49 12 88 (E) 4509 clear dust 04:00 56 49 13 87 (E) 4703 clear dust 05:00 56 49 12 84 (E) 4497 clear dust Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
