We had rain in the afternoon radar everywhere nearly the whole night. Around 1am the dust spiked over 30k and it didn't come back down until 6am. We were able to open on sky for about an hour to do some collimation exposure. Amanda and I learned what actuator adjustments would be needed but we did not make any adjustments as rain was coming up the mountain and we needed to close. Task Completed: - hub and tcc restart - reset axes - zeroed rotator -0.122 - restart parallels - DOCUMENTATION!!!! Holy cow, I have a MUCH better understanding of collimation! But it's going to take all of shutdown to get things written up, diagrams drawn, and everything put on the new wiki in color-coated glory. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- FAILURE MODE TIME PROG INSTR TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 73 42 23 207 (SSW) 839 mstly cldy none 17:00 74 43 18 226 (SW) 996 mstly cldy none 18:00 71 42 16 189 (S) 933 mstly cldy none 19:00 72 41 11 217 (SW) 1080 mstly cldy none 20:00 69 40 11 227 (SW) 961 mstly cldy none 21:00 66 42 17 238 (WSW) 4854 ptly cldy dust 22:00 63 44 9 214 (SW) 7363 mstly clr dust 23:00 65 44 7 244 (WSW) 5476 mstly clr dust 00:00 64 43 10 187 (S) 3859 mstly clr dust 01:00 63 44 11 218 (SW) 24381 ptly cldy dust 02:00 63 43 9 193 (SSW) 15952 ptly cldy dust 03:00 64 43 7 191 (S) 9849 mstly cldy dust 04:00 62 42 4 249 (WSW) 7328 mstly cldy dust 05:00 62 41 6 182 (S) 4942 mstly cldy dust 06:00 62 41 8 183 (S) 1617 mstly cldy dust Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
