A lot of smoke. It's all coming from the Gila and Utah and it looked like clouds. But the particle counts weren't high and the humidity was low so we opened. We were able to give A half all of there time but, around 3am, we had a wind shift and a spike in dust. It calmed down as soon as I closed the dome, of course. We reopened but, an hour later, a storm blow out from the north was coming up fast. We had to close again near 5am. The particle counts and humidity skyrocketed and there was no chance of reopening. While NM07 was taking their echelle cals, the echelle started reading out all zeros. I restarted the ICC and all was good the rest of the night. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- FAILURE MODE TIME PROG INSTR TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 21:38 klow 258( 1652) 13 67 21.6 22.2 22.2 21.9 21.6 -- 0.75 01:04 ecamera 341( 527) 19 55 19.3 18.8 19.5 18.6 18.7 Clear 1.46 00:04 ecamera 341( 527) 19 55 19.3 18.8 19.5 18.6 18.7 Clear 1.46 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 73 28 14 331 (NNW) 996 clear none 17:00 74 28 14 328 (NNW) 1190 clear none 18:00 75 27 10 282 (WNW) 1335 clear none 19:00 75 26 3 316 (NW) 1321 clear none 20:00 72 22 0 91 (E) 1145 clear none 21:00 71 20 13 30 (NNE) 997 clear none 22:00 70 19 15 56 (NE) 1008 clear none 23:00 70 19 13 72 (ENE) 936 clear none 00:00 67 26 10 89 (E) 1077 clear none 01:00 66 30 18 122 (ESE) 1088 clear none 02:00 67 33 17 131 (SE) 1085 mstly clr none 03:00 58 34 16 90 (E) 3206 mstly clr dust 04:00 65 32 18 156 (SSE) 2332 mstly clr none 05:00 58 38 13 81 (E) 6136 mstly clr dust Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
