Observing Specialist: A.Townsend
There was a big thunderstorm just east of us at sunset so we waited until about 22:00 to safely open. However, the humidity started climbing, and got too high to stay open by midnight. We were able to open again a few hours later when the humidity dropped, but had a hard time with high airmass targets in the clouds.
There was an error switching echelle cal filter to Blue when running the echelle IOL script this morning: "error from motor controller: '\x15[Invalid Command]\r>'". I tried again manually, with the same failure, looked up the instructions on the wiki, tried a third time without any other interventions, and it worked.
