Once we addressed the chiller we worked with ATUI for about 3 hours. The weather started out with virga everywhere but we were able to get on sky 30 min after sunset and successfully fired the laser. We didn't successfully measure any return signals. The laser started overheating and we had to quit at 22:00 with Russet donating the rest of the time to UW06. We managed to stay on a little over an hour before rain began to converge from all directions. It never actually rained on site as everything broke on the peak of the mountain. Things cleared up enough to open around 2am and BY04 was able to use the remainder of the night. Even with all the crazy wind changes we maintained good seeing all night! No problems tonight. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- FAILURE MODE TIME PROG INSTR TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 21:07 APOLLO 352( 2294) 249 20 15.6 17.6 17.4 17.3 16.2 530 1.70 22:11 ecamera 275( 341) 271 45 14.7 16.1 16.2 15.6 15.4 ND2 1.41 02:16 arctic 355( 1387) 266 43 13.5 13.3 13.9 13.2 13.4 sdss-g 0.95 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 64 32 20 275 (W) 5850 mstly cldy none 17:00 67 31 16 259 (W) 2836 mstly cldy none 18:00 62 29 6 352 (N) 1915 mstly cldy none 19:00 66 31 7 303 (WNW) 1933 mstly cldy none 20:00 62 30 9 270 (W) 2326 ptly cldy none 21:00 60 31 3 359 (N) 1858 mstly clr none 22:00 60 30 4 345 (NNW) 1448 mstly clr none 23:00 58 32 2 45 (NE) 2448 ptly cldy none 00:00 53 39 7 78 (ENE) 3904 mstly cldy none 01:00 55 34 8 296 (WNW) 3615 ptly cldy none 02:00 55 32 4 256 (WSW) 1660 clear none 03:00 56 34 7 225 (SW) 2257 clear none 04:00 56 34 11 329 (NNW) 1721 clear none 05:00 55 34 2 319 (NW) 1475 clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
