Humidity dropped below closure limits around 23:00 but the clouds grew thicker. We finally opened around 02:00. We had an APOLLO training session with Bill, Russet, and Myself, with me taking the lead in doing things and Russet giving instruction. 02:20 My observer reported that the stars in the ARCTIC image were streaking. The shutter was stuck open. I reset it and it seemed to now work fine. Clouds came back around 04:20 and observing at high air mass didn't help matters either. My observer called it at 04:30 due to the clouds. They wanted sky flats so we stayed open for those. I didn't restart the KOSMOS ICC, I will do that in the afternoon when I am more alert. When I generated the night log this morning it left the Weather Log header and column descriptions off for some reason. I copied and pasted them in from a previous log. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- FAILURE MODE TIME PROG INSTR TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 02:05 arctic 334( 1393) 95 54 13.5 13.9 15.2 13.8 13.6 SDSS_i 0.87 02:06 NA2gdr -1970(36029) 95 55 13.5 13.9 15.2 13.8 13.6 Clear 1.13 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 57 55 17 142 (SE) cloudy lt rain 17:00 58 55 15 131 (SE) cloudy none 18:00 60 55 11 121 (ESE) cloudy none 19:00 61 53 11 133 (SE) 508 ptly cldy humid 20:00 57 54 19 110 (ESE) mstly cldy humid 21:00 56 53 19 110 (ESE) mstly cldy humid 22:00 56 53 15 111 (ESE) mstly cldy humid 23:00 56 52 14 123 (ESE) cloudy none 00:00 56 51 16 123 (ESE) 3747 cloudy none 01:00 57 50 14 138 (SE) 3425 mstly cldy none 02:00 57 50 15 139 (SE) 3336 mstly clr none 03:00 55 51 17 132 (SE) ptly cldy none 04:00 54 50 4 118 (ESE) ptly cldy none 05:00 53 50 6 188 (S) ptly cldy none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
