So it was disappinting when the wind dropped and the dust came down for a single measurement below the limit before bouncing up again for another couple of hours. Finally the dust went down and stayed down and I opened, then I realized I hadn't been measuring pollen (because I thought it would be mostly dust). So I set out a plate right after opening, but I think I messed up the pre-cleaning because that plate had very unexpectedly high counts, and other plates measured by both myself and Kaike had lower counts. So probably the pollen was fine. Tracking was a challenge for a non-sidereal object at very high declination because of great circle/small circle issues, but we did get some good spectra! ------- FAILURE LOG ------- FAILURE MODE TIME PROG INSTR TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 01:22 kosmos 150( 868) 177 21 7.4 7.1 8.3 7.0 7.1 - 1.59 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 56 16 23 247 (WSW) 5596 clear dust 17:00 56 14 39 248 (WSW) 6681 clear dust 18:00 56 14 33 253 (WSW) 17614 clear dust 19:00 54 12 22 246 (WSW) 13185 clear dust 20:00 50 10 19 261 (W) 7545 clear dust 21:00 49 10 16 260 (W) 5759 clear dust 22:00 47 10 17 265 (W) 4175 clear dust 23:00 46 8 13 265 (W) 4750 clear dust 00:00 45 9 13 267 (W) 11377 clear dust 01:00 44 9 9 265 (W) 7911 clear dust 02:00 46 9 16 302 (WNW) 3005 clear none 03:00 45 10 18 298 (WNW) 2745 clear none 04:00 45 6 19 275 (W) 2874 clear none 05:00 44 8 16 289 (WNW) 2916 clear none 06:00 44 6 19 290 (WNW) 2857 clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
