The night was very busy with a variety of interesting problems, special thanks to MVP Amanda for helping out! Sometime after the instrument checkout and before I tried to focus, ARCTIC got wedged into a bad state so I had to do an init, which dropped a quad. I thought I would have time to get it back second half, but sduring first half ome non-sidereal tracking tests revealed that pointing wasn't quite as good as we would like. Eventually I realized this was related to poor pointing with APOLLO on the weekend, so it may have started when the secondary was homed last week, which meant that I needed to do collimation before a pointing model, and both those things were high priority. I couldn't start those until 1 am, so I never really had an opening to recover the ARCTIC quad. That will be on the task list for tomorrow. I did manage to correct collimation and pointing and barely squeezed in some confirmation checks in morning twilight. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- FAILURE MODE TIME PROG INSTR TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 00:12 APOLLO 350( 2026) 13 33 12.6 12.2 13.1 12.0 12.1 530 1.20 01:49 shack 370( 1862) 55 62 11.5 11.5 12.3 11.4 11.6 - 1.30 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 65 15 28 249 (WSW) 1554 clear none 17:00 64 13 22 258 (WSW) 1552 clear none 18:00 62 13 29 258 (WSW) 1484 clear none 19:00 61 11 17 254 (WSW) 2541 clear none 20:00 58 7 19 252 (WSW) 2082 clear none 21:00 56 5 14 260 (W) 3349 clear none 22:00 57 5 19 254 (WSW) 3475 clear none 23:00 56 4 15 250 (WSW) 3373 clear none 00:00 54 3 12 237 (WSW) 3216 clear none 01:00 54 2 14 268 (W) 2669 clear none 02:00 53 2 16 268 (W) 1520 clear none 03:00 53 1 15 267 (W) 1185 clear none 04:00 52 0 11 264 (W) 1174 clear none 05:00 51 0 12 270 (W) 1267 clear none 06:00 50 -1 9 268 (W) 1323 clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
