High winds and dust around sunset diminished to acceptable levels early in A Half under completely acceptable limits all around except for pollen. Hourly counts using the plate/Raspberry Pi device were repeated hourly until the counts were approaching acceptable levels when I increased the frequency to 2x/hour or more as A Half neared the end. The early counts were measured at the old all-sky camera platform, but measurements from the catwalk were added starting at 23:23 MDT while we were closed. Catwalk readings were higher than the all-sky platform initially, but dropped below 30 similar to the platform levels. Decided to open during B Half, and went to platform-only pollen monitoring. Shared pollen counts and consulted often with Sloan all through the night, and continued pollen samples. Levels remained low, but coupled with rising humidity we both (Sloan) decided to close at 04:00. Humidity continued to slowly climb and we remained closed for the res t of the night. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- FAILURE MODE TIME PROG INSTR TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 01:05 ecamera 171( -483) 205 52 0.6 0.8 2.9 1.2 0.8 ND1 1.19 02:20 ecamera 492( -200) 193 55 0.1 0.1 1.1 0.1 0.2 ND2 0.96 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 42 15 38 261 (W) 7024 mstly cldy pollen 17:00 44 17 15 235 (SW) 3782 mstly cldy pollen 18:00 41 14 22 242 (WSW) 6622 mstly cldy pollen 19:00 41 12 14 270 (W) 2748 mstly clr pollen 20:00 39 13 17 267 (W) 2101 clear pollen 21:00 38 15 22 280 (W) 2026 clear pollen 22:00 36 19 17 261 (W) 2044 clear pollen 23:00 35 21 15 292 (WNW) 1921 clear pollen 00:00 34 23 11 306 (NW) 1311 clear pollen 01:00 34 24 17 314 (NW) 1529 clear pollen 02:00 33 24 2 276 (W) 1593 clear none 03:00 32 24 5 322 (NW) 1549 clear none 04:00 32 25 11 18 (NNE) 1691 clear none 05:00 32 26 16 9 (N) 1364 clear humid Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
