It seemed to be stalled and wouldn't start the exposure. I'll need to vnc in to restart the machine tomorrow. We had a clear night with good seeing, so I took the opportunity to run a lot of exposures for throughput. I focused on three fields and ran through the SDSS ugri filters. When I went to foucs arctic with the focus script I was given the error: 2024-04-24 02:40:07 APO.Candace 117 KeyDispatcher f Aborted; Actor='sfocus'; Cmd='centroid file=/export/images/Q2APO/UT240424/arctic_focus.0005.fits on=55.0,55.0 cradius=21.9' Restarted the nubs for 'sfocus' fixed the issue The sky stayed clear with good seeing through twilight. Clouds started making their way over at twilight and I and I stopped for the night. Engineering tasks completed: 1. Restart axis controllers 2. Zero the NA2 rotator (-0.0405) 3. Restart tron and tcc 4. Collimation check (added 15 to SecYTilt) 5. Pointing model (implemented) 6. Adjust pointing at NA1 (checked pointing with echelle and it was good) 11. Throughput Tasks not completed: 7. DIS contamination check (and focus checks) 8. KOSMOS focus check 9. Verify /export/images and /export/arcsat is reachable from all the machines mentioned above and let Shane know if not. 10. IRAF on obsA (test in your personal account and let us know if permissions issues). ------- FAILURE LOG ------- FAILURE MODE TIME PROG INSTR TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 19:53 arctic 425( 1481) 26 49 13.1 13.8 14.0 13.1 13.2 sdss-i 0.75 20:44 arctic 420( 1439) 7 52 13.2 13.0 13.6 12.7 13.0 sdss-i 0.75 21:20 arctic 419( 1424) 32 52 12.9 12.7 13.4 12.5 12.7 sdss-i 0.84 23:00 shack 375( 1911) 124 58 12.8 12.4 13.1 12.4 12.4 -- 1.10 00:16 guider 340( 1336) 105 72 12.2 11.7 12.5 11.6 11.6 B 1.08 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 67 14 18 267 (W) 956 clear none 17:00 65 15 13 228 (SW) 874 clear none 18:00 61 15 11 258 (WSW) 1153 clear none 19:00 60 16 12 259 (W) 1153 clear none 20:00 55 17 10 249 (WSW) 1278 clear none 21:00 55 20 14 210 (SSW) 2046 clear none 22:00 56 18 12 239 (WSW) 1543 clear none 23:00 56 18 8 261 (W) 1426 clear none 00:00 55 18 10 267 (W) 1362 clear none 01:00 55 20 7 271 (W) 1325 clear none 02:00 53 19 9 262 (W) 1349 clear none 03:00 52 19 13 244 (WSW) 1424 clear none 04:00 51 19 13 245 (WSW) 1412 clear none 05:00 51 19 11 270 (W) 1338 clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
