APOLLO garnered a whopping 8 return photons over multiple ranging runs - always bad when the statistics are in the Sesame Street range. APOLLO gave up early, then UW01 had trouble getting flats due to an observing specialist error (instrument mounted with cover on) which was partly due to the distraction of a brake in the wrong position on the instrument cart. Once those things were resolved, the ARCTIC shutter was stuck, which didn't happen through the entire winter, so why now? I'm nearly certain that we checked the shutter status LEDs after doing the instrument recovery on Sunday, so it probably wasn't that? Finally UW01 got on sky only to discover the clouds were too much. UW01 also gave up early because of clouds, so that time was counted as weather. And then UW02 also gave up early. But echelle was able to shoot through the clouds. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- FAILURE MODE TIME PROG INSTR TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- UW01 R I/H 20:40 20:54 inst cover, cart brake, stuck shutter! ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 01:02 kimage 375( 1241) 44 61 11.5 11.0 11.6 10.8 11.2 - 1.15 02:05 ecamera 438( 239) 41 66 10.1 10.7 11.3 10.6 10.6 ND2 1.42 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 60 15 9 201 (SSW) 539 ptly cldy none 17:00 61 11 17 240 (WSW) 648 ptly cldy none 18:00 58 9 9 193 (SSW) 735 ptly cldy none 19:00 56 6 10 214 (SW) 772 ptly cldy none 20:00 54 6 11 222 (SW) 699 ptly cldy none 21:00 54 6 12 217 (SW) 693 ptly cldy none 22:00 54 6 8 220 (SW) 705 ptly cldy none 23:00 54 7 9 190 (S) 734 ptly cldy none 00:00 54 7 14 218 (SW) 836 ptly cldy none 01:00 53 7 11 210 (SSW) 712 ptly cldy none 02:00 52 6 9 195 (SSW) 1087 ptly cldy none 03:00 51 6 8 183 (S) 1504 ptly cldy none 04:00 52 9 9 212 (SSW) 1919 ptly cldy none 05:00 52 11 15 214 (SW) 2051 ptly cldy none 06:00 50 14 14 206 (SSW) 2182 ptly cldy none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
