However, the sky clouded up again, radar was nearby and dust and humidity rose which forced us to close right as we were switching over to the echelle program GS02. Conditions did not improve sufficiently to reopen until well into the final program (CU04) time slot. Cloudy conditions prevailed but longer exposures helped to compensate the attenuation. Data was collected for about 40 minutes before conditions deteriorated with radar nearby. We closed for the final time at 04:15 and gave up for the night. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- FAILURE MODE TIME PROG INSTR TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 18:46 APOLLO 300( 1593) 81 53 1.7 4.5 4.4 4.7 2.5 530 1.40 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 40 20 13 267 (W) 793 cloudy none 17:00 39 24 10 253 (WSW) 865 cloudy none 18:00 39 23 14 224 (SW) 807 cloudy none 19:00 38 23 16 222 (SW) 825 mstly cldy none 20:00 35 23 21 204 (SSW) 1081 mstly cldy none 21:00 33 29 15 200 (SSW) mstly clr humid 22:00 32 30 7 200 (SSW) clear humid 23:00 31 30 7 189 (S) mstly clr humid 00:00 31 30 10 242 (WSW) mstly clr humid 01:00 32 28 11 217 (SW) mstly clr humid 02:00 31 29 3 209 (SSW) ptly cldy humid 03:00 32 26 9 282 (WNW) mstly cldy none 04:00 32 25 7 336 (NNW) 724 cloudy none 05:00 32 24 1 336 (NNW) 684 cloudy none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
