We opened around 19:55 with a few stars peeking through the clouds but no threat of rain. The first half gave up about an hour early due to thick clouds. The sky was not usable at the start of 2nd half so they used the time to take cals. The sky finally cleared enough at 03:30 that on sky observations could resume. Other than some pesky clouds, no problems tonight. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- FAILURE MODE TIME PROG INSTR TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 20:04 arctic 492( 1149) 208 66 4.4 5.5 5.1 5.5 4.6 SDSS_i 0.72 20:06 arctic 492( 1149) 208 66 4.4 5.5 5.1 5.4 4.6 clear 1.03 22:03 arctic 418( 1040) 167 51 5.3 4.5 5.0 4.8 4.9 SDSS_i 0.90 00:37 kosmos 418( 978) 194 79 5.4 4.6 5.2 4.9 4.9 -- 0.75 03:40 kosmos 393( 924) 199 64 4.1 3.8 4.3 3.7 3.8 -- 0.70 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 45 18 14 245 (WSW) 1602 cloudy none 17:00 43 20 13 207 (SSW) 1753 cloudy none 18:00 41 18 12 226 (SW) 2086 cloudy none 19:00 39 17 11 221 (SW) 2181 ptly cldy none 20:00 40 16 15 240 (WSW) 2018 ptly cldy none 21:00 40 13 13 244 (WSW) 1981 ptly cldy none 22:00 42 9 11 266 (W) 2461 mstly cldy none 23:00 41 10 11 264 (W) 2420 mstly cldy none 00:00 41 11 15 247 (WSW) 2458 cloudy none 01:00 42 9 13 262 (W) 2400 mstly cldy none 02:00 41 9 13 262 (W) 2439 ptly cldy none 03:00 40 10 13 259 (W) 2436 ptly cldy none 04:00 39 13 12 262 (W) 2231 mstly clr none 05:00 39 12 13 264 (W) 2517 clear none 06:00 38 12 14 296 (WNW) 2419 clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
