I thought things calme down enough after sunset to open, but there was too much blowing snow. Once the wind dropped to below 30 mphs and the clouds were far enough away, we opened around 210:30 pm. However, there was a power flicker a couple hours prior and that must have affected the mirror covers. I needed to open them manually and we lost a few min. At 11:30pm there was another power flicker causing all the axes to stop. Once I reinitialized them we were good to go. But then...the wind kicked up over 35 mph again and the humidity spiked. We closed and were not able to open again. Since there was a little bit of freezing fog, I went ahead and parked the dome south. ====================== echelle pump pressure ====================== 17:00 1.877-4 5.4e-4 22:30 1.65e-4 6.2e-4 06:30 1.96e-5 6.9e-5 ------- FAILURE LOG ------- FAILURE MODE TIME PROG INSTR TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- NM03 K T/H 22:28 22:38 Mirror covers needed power cycle NM03 K T/H 23:28 23:30 power flicker caused axis stop ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 22:48 kosmos 269( 380) 48 59 -5.6 -5.1 -4.6 -5.4 -5.6 -- 1.97 00:25 kosmos 332( 406) -57 43 -6.0 -6.2 -5.6 -6.2 -5.9 -- 2.36 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 27 12 23 304 (NW) 703 mstly cldy none 17:00 29 11 24 303 (WNW) 551 cloudy none 18:00 26 10 17 315 (NW) 961 cloudy none 19:00 25 12 32 299 (WNW) 504 mstly cldy none 20:00 25 11 24 306 (NW) 455 mstly cldy none 21:00 24 11 12 305 (NW) 266 ptly cldy none 22:00 22 13 15 301 (WNW) 295 ptly cldy none 23:00 22 14 16 330 (NNW) 312 mstly clr none 00:00 21 15 8 324 (NW) mstly cldy none 01:00 21 15 10 347 (NNW) mstly cldy humid 02:00 20 17 10 343 (NNW) mstly cldy humid 03:00 20 17 21 353 (N) mstly cldy humid 04:00 19 18 19 345 (NNW) mstly cldy fog 05:00 19 17 20 3 (N) mstly clr fog 06:00 20 15 23 5 (N) mstly clr humid Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
