Observing Specialist: R.McMillan, M.Croom
Clouds, nearby radar and excessive dust (1-micron over 20,000) kept us closed. Dust dropped to acceptable levels during A Half but clouds and radar persisted, and winds rose above limits during B Half. Weather prevented us from opening all night.
We set the ARCTIC filter wheel with the proper filters for the next ARCTIC observer.
Mark was instructed on TSpec aux tank fills with hands on demonstration, as well as aligning the telescope to the dome to correct for shifts.
Cleaned dust from the most popular KOSMOS slits.
Installed a MOS mask into a holder, and installed 4 MOS masks and one regular slit in KOSMOS.
All of the regular slits are back upstairs.
