Only brighter targets were within reach of DSSI. Occasionally DSSI paused their imaging while thicker clouds were present. Most of the final 2 or 3 hours were spent with the DSSI team poised to take images if the cloud conditions improved but there were only a few opportunities. Closed 24 minutes early due to nearby radar. One micron dust was near limits midway in A Half but subsided substantially and was not a factor. During afternoon test slews, one fiducial error was encountered in az. Mark was given in-dome training of ARCSAT, but without actually going on sky. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- FAILURE MODE TIME PROG INSTR TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 20:23 dssi 340( 1469) -68 58 8.5 9.0 9.2 8.9 8.6 692nm 1.30 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 53 24 16 261 (W) 241 mstly cldy none 17:00 50 22 15 267 (W) 246 mstly cldy none 18:00 48 21 13 264 (W) 357 mstly cldy none 19:00 48 21 15 268 (W) 467 mstly cldy none 20:00 47 20 10 265 (W) 586 ptly cldy none 21:00 47 20 11 267 (W) 3109 ptly cldy none 22:00 48 22 11 263 (W) 1021 ptly cldy none 23:00 48 24 15 293 (WNW) 183 ptly cldy none 00:00 48 24 13 264 (W) 124 ptly cldy none 01:00 48 24 18 262 (W) 202 ptly cldy none 02:00 47 23 21 242 (WSW) 240 ptly cldy none 03:00 46 23 21 233 (SW) 262 mstly cldy none 04:00 44 23 13 224 (SW) 463 mstly cldy none 05:00 45 24 18 244 (WSW) 405 cloudy none 06:00 45 24 15 261 (W) 336 cloudy none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
