The skies mostly cleared when Apollo was active and remained that way with moderate (1.5") seeing. Mark received more training on ARCSAT when we had to resolve an issue by restarting the software. We also recentered the field and adjusted the guider orientation and offset pointings. DSSI operated with no issues aside from a short-lived appearance of unsteadiness. Initially suspecting wind effects, the telemetry showed no unusual loadings and the winds were within limits so atmospheric turbulence was deemed more likely. With 231 observations, DSSI team had a pretty productive night aside from the early clouds. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- FAILURE MODE TIME PROG INSTR TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 18:43 dssi 350( 1351) 244 73 5.3 6.5 6.3 6.1 5.6 692nm 0.70 23:14 APOLLO 400( 1739) 69 53 5.4 5.4 6.0 5.6 5.6 530 1.20 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 43 15 11 336 (NNW) 569 ptly cldy none 17:00 42 14 5 289 (WNW) 604 ptly cldy none 18:00 41 12 10 336 (NNW) 622 ptly cldy none 19:00 42 12 12 269 (W) 783 ptly cldy none 20:00 41 15 11 242 (WSW) 905 ptly cldy none 21:00 42 14 13 263 (W) 888 ptly cldy none 22:00 42 12 12 267 (W) 852 ptly cldy none 23:00 43 10 10 268 (W) 589 mstly clr none 00:00 43 13 23 288 (WNW) 397 mstly clr none 01:00 43 15 15 276 (W) 322 mstly clr none 02:00 41 20 17 264 (W) 310 mstly clr none 03:00 42 19 18 290 (WNW) 423 mstly clr none 04:00 41 18 16 295 (WNW) 508 mstly clr none 05:00 41 18 15 309 (NW) 486 mstly clr none 06:00 41 18 11 293 (WNW) 415 mstly clr none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
