We had a lot of annoying clouds for A-half, but it cleared up nicely. Seeing was pretty good too. Engineering Tasks Accomplished: - Restarted tron and tcc - Monitored echelle IOL (nurse dewar weight was 261 at 17:30 and 236 at 06:30) - KOSMOS 1.25 and 20 arcsec slit tests - Collimation check - Echelle pointing check - Troubleshooting pointing jump + kcam timestamps (PR 2192) - Throughput, since it was surprisingly clear for B-half - Continuing testing of twisted TUI beta Did service observing again for UW02 due to schedule change compounded with prior situation. While observing we had a jump in pointing from one guider exposure to the next (k0490 ad k0491) at about 02:45. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- FAILURE MODE TIME PROG INSTR TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 19:38 khigh 475( 1152) 146 60 7.4 6.9 7.3 6.3 6.8 -- 1.22 22:39 shack 425( 1684) 211 83 8.2 6.8 7.3 6.8 7.5 -- 1.40 01:09 kosmos 450( 1114) 225 50 7.9 6.6 7.0 6.4 7.2 -- 0.95 04:35 arctic 414( 1096) 149 53 7.3 5.9 6.5 5.9 6.4 SDSS_g 1.37 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 49 5 10 244 (WSW) 476 mstly clr none 17:00 49 2 14 258 (WSW) 481 ptly cldy none 18:00 45 4 16 254 (WSW) 482 mstly cldy none 19:00 44 0 13 254 (WSW) 448 mstly cldy none 20:00 46 -1 12 264 (W) 393 mstly cldy none 21:00 46 -1 15 284 (WNW) 372 mstly cldy none 22:00 46 0 14 272 (W) 358 mstly cldy none 23:00 47 0 17 270 (W) 350 mstly clr none 00:00 46 -1 15 265 (W) 429 clear none 01:00 46 -1 19 265 (W) 476 clear none 02:00 46 0 16 238 (WSW) 392 clear none 03:00 45 0 17 223 (SW) 471 clear none 04:00 45 1 19 203 (SSW) 372 clear none 05:00 46 1 24 222 (SW) 376 clear none 06:00 44 1 26 205 (SSW) 522 clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
