It cleared out an hour after sunset and we were able to open without any other issues for the rest of the night. Seeing was good, especially once the wind made up it's mind to come from the west. At 04:14 we had an interesting motion error in alt and az. We were at 347, 71 slewing to HIP70218 and, about a second after the slew command was issued, the axes stopped, giving the error: 2024-02-18 11:14:08 NM08.annepeck 62 tcc f text="Could not start the slew: Could not compute a slew for axes: alt; initializing all axes" It looks like NM08 slewed to a target that was near the 85 deg alt limit and the limit was hit just after they hit slew, causing the drives to stop, which I'd never seen before. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- FAILURE MODE TIME PROG INSTR TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 19:06 tcamera 265( 951) 3 63 -0.3 1.8 2.4 2.8 0.8 Ks 1.01 19:55 ecamera 346( -287) -92 42 0.4 1.1 1.5 1.3 0.9 ND2 1.67 00:14 ecamera 443( -251) -18 52 0.3 0.0 0.7 0.1 0.4 ND1 0.83 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 35 23 6 269 (W) 595 mstly cldy none 17:00 33 20 8 341 (NNW) 558 mstly cldy none 18:00 33 20 1 216 (SW) 661 cloudy none 19:00 32 21 10 333 (NNW) 823 ptly cldy none 20:00 33 21 12 313 (NW) 881 ptly cldy none 21:00 33 20 6 304 (NW) 794 mstly clr none 22:00 32 21 10 305 (NW) 836 mstly clr none 23:00 34 20 12 306 (NW) 886 ptly cldy none 00:00 34 20 11 324 (NW) 902 ptly cldy none 01:00 33 20 11 312 (NW) 961 ptly cldy none 02:00 31 21 5 286 (WNW) 1066 mstly clr none 03:00 31 20 8 316 (NW) 1152 mstly clr none 04:00 31 20 6 266 (W) 1331 mstly clr none 05:00 30 21 7 304 (NW) 1301 clear none 06:00 32 22 6 265 (W) 1349 clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
