The observer got a few hours of data with good seeing conditions before clouds and radar forced us to close. More clouds kept popping up at the leading edge of a big weather system. Because the echelle is unavailable, the UW06 that was on the schedule gave their time to UW05. Sadly, weather did not permit opening second half. We tried another intervention for DIS red which did not help, replaced a dead battery on APOLLO, set up some KOSMOS slits for tomorrow, and updated the KOSMOS user guide with new slit information. Mark received more ObsSpec training reviewing focusing methods, mounting slits in KOSMOS, image quick-look techniques, and mounting ARCTIC. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- FAILURE MODE TIME PROG INSTR TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 18:23 kimage 475( 1090) 142 61 4.4 5.6 5.5 5.5 4.3 - 0.95 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 45 33 13 225 (SW) 286 ptly cldy none 17:00 43 32 15 233 (SW) 522 clear none 18:00 40 31 14 221 (SW) 457 clear none 19:00 40 30 15 210 (SSW) 409 clear none 20:00 41 28 13 190 (S) 361 clear none 21:00 41 30 20 203 (SSW) 460 mstly cldy none 22:00 41 30 23 202 (SSW) 722 mstly cldy none 23:00 41 29 25 203 (SSW) 715 mstly cldy none 00:00 40 28 25 200 (SSW) 512 mstly cldy none 01:00 40 26 17 193 (SSW) 412 mstly cldy none 02:00 39 27 28 213 (SSW) 371 mstly cldy none 03:00 38 28 21 215 (SW) 438 mstly cldy none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
