The only on-sky task we really have left for engineering tonight is throughput, but we need photometric sky for that, so we worked on things in-dome for a while. I had to do kosmos status all because the kosmos instrument window was full of question marks. NA2guider filter list blank; gmech parameters revived it. Opened up around 00:40 once we had photometric sky useful for throughput, but after slewing to the first field to focus I tried setting ARCTIC to LL mode and got the "set full window" error. I had to do an arctic init which of course dropped a quad, so after addressing some ARCSAT problems I recovered the quad instead of continuing on with throughput measurements. After a few hours of good sky the clouds came back and we would not have been able to get more throughput data anyway, so some of the quad recovery time is marked as lost to weather and some as equipment when the sky was photometric. When parking the telesope before doing the quad recovery, I did a tcc rot 0 mount, which failed with a Cannot Compute error showing up in the Status window. That didn't make sense for the commanded slew (timestamp 2024-12-13 07:50:14 .tcc.0 0 tcc w WarnRotStatus;). The rotator angle did change from about -11 to -2.8, but it did not slew all the way to zero. I issued a tcc axis init and tried tcc rot 0 mount again, which worked fine. ARCTIC was mounted with the inst also set to ARCTIC. Restarted the dome mac at checkout since TUI was glitching, and restarted obs1 for CSS since everything other than the mouse was frozen. Engineering tasks completed: - Inspected ARCTIC diffuser rotation (not rotating) and filter wheels - Cleaned KOSMOS slits - Checked out slitviewer masks, made a new one for ecam. - New wiki troubleshooting - Recovered the dropped arctic quad ------- FAILURE LOG ------- FAILURE MODE TIME PROG INSTR TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- EN01 ARCTIC I/H 01:00 03:00 ARCTIC quad dropped ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 39 5 14 252 (WSW) 942 cloudy none 17:00 39 11 16 262 (W) 1123 cloudy none 18:00 39 13 13 263 (W) 1223 cloudy none 19:00 39 14 16 269 (W) 1183 cloudy none 20:00 38 15 20 287 (WNW) 1130 cloudy none 21:00 38 16 21 294 (WNW) 1172 mstly cldy none 22:00 37 20 17 258 (WSW) 944 mstly clr none 23:00 36 21 15 264 (W) 979 mstly clr none 00:00 37 22 23 273 (W) 868 clear none 01:00 36 22 21 238 (WSW) 907 clear none 02:00 35 22 17 232 (SW) 918 clear none 03:00 37 21 11 265 (W) 795 mstly clr none 04:00 36 21 20 246 (WSW) 997 mstly clr none 05:00 35 19 13 255 (WSW) 907 mstly clr none 06:00 35 12 16 252 (WSW) 785 mstly clr none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
