Bill reported that the alt had reset to 0.0 deg this morning and reste it to 70 deg. I believe I left the telescope parked at 75 and I was seeing a 5deg fiducial error on my test slews. I fixed the issue by changing the position and then re-doing my test slees in alt. The error was much more reasonable after. Wind gusts finally dropped below closure limits around 19:45 and we opened soon afterwards. No telescope issues tonight. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- FAILURE MODE TIME PROG INSTR TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 20:07 NICFPS 277( 863) 109 63 -4.3 -4.5 -4.3 -4.4 -4.5 H 0.71 20:10 NA2gdr 11657(49657) 109 64 -4.3 -4.5 -4.4 -4.5 -4.5 R 1.60 22:36 NICFPS 294( 884) 312 42 -4.1 -4.8 -4.1 -4.6 -4.4 H 1.00 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 24 -8 22 24 (NNE) 149 clear none 17:00 23 -13 19 17 (NNE) 122 clear none 18:00 24 -15 18 19 (NNE) 85 clear none 19:00 25 -11 15 15 (NNE) 135 clear none 20:00 24 -8 8 29 (NNE) 158 clear none 21:00 25 -9 17 9 (N) 148 clear none 22:00 25 -10 12 12 (NNE) 139 clear none 23:00 24 -10 15 26 (NNE) 169 clear none 00:00 24 -9 18 18 (NNE) 175 clear none 01:00 25 -8 15 36 (NE) 171 clear none 02:00 29 0 22 16 (NNE) 46 clear none 03:00 27 1 29 5 (N) 61 clear none 04:00 28 4 27 30 (NNE) 80 clear none 05:00 30 4 21 32 (NNE) 86 clear none 06:00 30 4 8 32 (NNE) 66 clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
