Townsend (support ObsSpec). Thanks for explaining the options concerning the ARCTIC dropped quad with my onsite observers. R.McMillan also helped to expedite the transition from Apollo to B Half with OU02 while I tended to the Apollo chiller for the first time solo. We were open all night. UW06 onsite had eyepiece time, followed by ARCTIC time using both remote and onsite observers for the remainder of A Half. They settled on running ARCTIC in LL mode vs the 3/4 quad mode or losing the time to recover the dropped quad. Apollo went well with reported strong return signals. OU02 opted for the faster readout time of ARCTIC in quad mode even with the dropped quad. They did enquire about the status of Agile as that may have been an attractive alternative. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- FAILURE MODE TIME PROG INSTR TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 21:02 arctic 521( 1107) 30 63 4.8 4.0 5.2 4.2 4.8 CUVR 0.86 00:18 APOLLO 350( 1662) 98 45 6.2 4.7 5.3 5.0 5.4 530 0.90 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 41 12 9 265 (W) 731 clear none 17:00 40 6 11 275 (W) 644 clear none 18:00 38 6 9 284 (WNW) 612 clear none 19:00 38 4 7 326 (NW) 592 clear none 20:00 38 10 8 8 (N) 624 clear none 21:00 42 7 6 3 (N) 419 clear none 22:00 40 9 13 5 (N) 470 clear none 23:00 41 11 18 15 (NNE) 423 clear none 00:00 41 9 18 39 (NE) 423 clear none 01:00 44 6 15 31 (NNE) 221 clear none 02:00 44 12 18 30 (NNE) 166 clear none 03:00 47 2 15 32 (NNE) 261 clear none 04:00 49 -5 9 9 (N) 336 mstly clr none 05:00 50 -3 12 25 (NNE) 429 clear none 06:00 48 -6 1 280 (W) 617 clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
