Though we got on sky and focused they were really too thick for science and we gave up as the storm coming up from the southwest got too close. We ended up getting some light snow flurries/wintry mix type precipitation a few times over the night, and it stayed completely overcast, so we weren't able to open again. Telescope and instruments behaved fine apart from the existing DIS red and echelle problems. New KOSMOS slits with updated bolts (yay!) are in the black suitcase on the observing level. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- FAILURE MODE TIME PROG INSTR TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 18:14 tcamera 334( 1243) 17 75 4.4 7.7 6.9 7.5 6.8 Ks 1.03 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 45 23 6 285 (WNW) 252 ptly cldy none 17:00 43 24 4 263 (W) 288 mstly cldy none 18:00 41 23 3 261 (W) 251 mstly cldy none 19:00 41 23 1 233 (SW) 347 mstly cldy none 20:00 41 24 2 205 (SSW) 395 mstly cldy none 21:00 40 24 2 198 (SSW) 313 cloudy none 22:00 42 22 2 172 (S) 156 cloudy none 23:00 41 23 4 188 (S) 175 cloudy lt snow 00:00 39 28 1 132 (SE) 243 cloudy lt snow 01:00 37 27 5 189 (S) 399 cloudy none 02:00 37 27 8 183 (S) 388 cloudy none 03:00 36 29 15 129 (SE) 367 cloudy rain 04:00 37 31 19 178 (S) 345 cloudy lt rain 05:00 37 30 10 179 (S) 350 cloudy none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
